Mike Otwell’s journey to health and wellness in the fitness industry started at a very young age. When he was 18 and moving on to college for a degree in political science, and eventually law, he realized that his health was a priority that didn’t exist.

As a form of release and coping mechanism while entering his freshman year, he decided to do something about his weight, which was a firm 220 lbs. A little run here, some self-education on nutrition there, and Mike was a leaner 160 lbs. – down 60 lbs. from his starting weight freshman year! He was headed in the opposite direction of the freshman 15. Soon enough, he developed a knack for health and fitness, which grew into something greater in the years to come.

A change of majors and three certifications later, Mike is now an accomplished Master Trainer with a degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado. Knowing that “working-out” is half the battle, he’s now pursuing a degree in Sports Psychology to continue to work all ends of the health and fitness spectrum at the highest level, while also being an accomplished runner, All-American triathlete, and coach to endurance athletes. He’s successfully upgraded his own life and developed life goals to encourage, uplift, and train individuals to reach the highest peaks they are capable of within health and fitness.

Mike also spent 6 incredible years in the Navy learning and growing through experiences and people around the world as a Rescue Swimmer and Naval Aircrewman. His hope is to bring experiences and unique challenges faced in the armed forces to the table, always striving to develop clients above their perceived limits. Outside of work he’s an Ironman and Ironman 70.3 triathlete that retains All World Athlete status. Competing and constantly challenging others and himself is nothing short of what he lives for. It’s been a phenomenal journey so far, and with an optimistic lifestyle, positive psychology, and consistent interaction and application with clients, he hopes to spread the message that health and fitness hopes, goals, and dreams are closer than they appear.
